AdvanSix is one of the few nylon and fertilizer manufacturers that is fully integrated – from cumene, phenol and acetone to caprolactam and ammonium sulfate. This, combined with a robust supply chain, world-scale facilities and proven manufacturing processes, ensure the highest levels of reliability, consistency and quality. Our global presence is supported with local sales and technical support experts who understand customer needs. Our research and development projects in North America, Asia and India are also focused on developing innovative process technology and new products that help customers succeed.

Frankford, Pennsylvania

The AdvanSix Frankford facility is one of North America’s largest producers of phenol, which is sold to customers around the world. This phenol is also shipped to our Hopewell, Virginia, site, where it is used to make caprolactam, the primary feedstock in the production of nylon polymer, which is used in carpet fibers, plastics and films. The Frankford plant also produces other chemical intermediates, including acetone and alpha-methylstyrene, which are ultimately used in a variety of applications including solvents, resins and plastics.

Stats: One of Philadelphia’s largest exporters. Employs more than 180 highly skilled workers.

Community: Engaged in many local organizations, with membership in the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and the Bridesburg Business Association. Participates in community emergency response drills.

Hopewell, Virginia

The AdvanSix Hopewell facility is one of the world’s largest single-site producers of caprolactam, the primary feedstock in the production of nylon polymer used in carpet fibers, plastics and films. It also produces a wide range of chemical intermediates, including Nadone® cyclohexanone, Naxol® cyclohexanol, sulfuric acid, specialty oximes, ammonia and carbon dioxide. The site is also a global leader in the development and production of ammonium sulfate fertilizers, which it sells under the Sulf-N®brand for both crop and turf applications.

Stats: Virginia’s second largest exporter. Employs more than 650 highly skilled workers.

Community: Engaged in many local organizations, with membership in the Hopewell Community and Industrial Panel and the Local Emergency Planning Council. Participates in community emergency response drills.

Chesterfield, Virginia

The AdvanSix Chesterfield facility is one of the largest U.S. producers of nylon 6 resins, and produces Aegis® Nylon 6 resin, which is used in the production of carpet fiber, molded parts for automobiles, cord for fish nets, and plastic for food and consumer packaging and pharmaceutical applications. Nylon 6 is made from caprolactam, a precursor to nylon made at the AdvanSix Hopewell, Va., facility.

Stats: Located on more than 550 acres on the James River in Chesterfield County, Virginia. Employs more than 300 highly skilled workers.

Pottsville, Pennsylvania

The AdvanSix Pottsville plant is a world-leading producer of Capran® biaxially oriented nylon films (BOPA, BON) and oriented nylon film (OPA, ONY, ON). The biaxial orientation endows Capran with exceptional strength and barrier properties, including superb burst strength, flex-crack, and abrasion and puncture resistance at lighter gauges versus competitive films. This makes them ideal for markets ranging from industrial and pharmaceutical to medical packaging.

Colonial Heights, Virginia

The recently expanded Colonial Heights laboratory facility meets demand for high-grade nylon polymers for packaging film and other applications, and conducts nylon-related research with laboratory-scale polymer reactors.

With a focus on nylon-related research and development, the Shanghai laboratory facility includes a laboratory-scale, multi-layer coextrusion cast film line and extensive analytical capabilities for resin development.
